The Philosophy
"Using AI to get answers is like going to the gym and watching others lift weights. Every answer AI gives you is a rep YOU didn't do."

Weekly AI Rituals
Monday Planning & Preview
I'm starting [Book/Module] this week. Without giving me the answers, help me identify: 1. What questions should I be able to answer after reading? 2. What concepts might be challenging? 3. How does this connect to [previous module]?
Wednesday Mid-Week Socratic Session
I'm reading [Book]. I think the main argument is [your understanding]. Challenge my understanding - what am I missing or misunderstanding? Ask me questions to deepen my thinking, don't just tell me.
Friday Flashcard Generation
Create 15 spaced repetition flashcards for [topic]. Include: - 5 definition/concept cards - 5 application scenario cards - 5 'what would you do if...' cards Format: Front: [question] | Back: [answer]
Sunday Weekly Review Quiz
Quiz me on this week's learning about [topics]. Ask 10 questions of increasing difficulty. Wait for my answer before giving feedback. Track my score and identify weak areas.
Prompts by Learning Activity
Before Reading a Book
DON'T:
Summarize [Book] for me
DO:
I'm about to read [Book] by [Author]. Without spoiling the key insights: 1. What problem does this book solve? 2. What should I pay attention to while reading? 3. What questions should I hold in mind? 4. How does it connect to [related book I already read]?
While Reading (Stuck)
DON'T:
Explain [concept] to me
DO:
I'm struggling with [concept] from [Book]. Here's what I think it means: [your attempt] Instead of explaining it, ask me questions that will help me figure out where my understanding is incomplete.
After Finishing a Book
DON'T:
Give me the key takeaways from [Book]
DO:
I finished [Book]. Here are my key takeaways: 1. [Takeaway 1] 2. [Takeaway 2] 3. [Takeaway 3] Challenge these. What did I miss? What did I misunderstand? What connections should I make to [other books in curriculum]?
Applying Concepts
DON'T:
How do I apply [concept]?
DO:
Give me 3 realistic scenarios where I would apply [concept from book]. Don't tell me the answer. Present the scenario and ask what I would do. After I answer, give me feedback on my approach.
The Feynman Technique with AI
The best way to learn is to teach. Use AI as your student:
You are a curious 12-year-old who wants to understand [complex concept]. I'll explain it to you. Ask me clarifying questions when my explanation is unclear. Point out when I use jargon without explaining it. Challenge me with 'but why?' and 'how does that work?' Don't pretend to understand if my explanation has gaps.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
| Trap | Wrong | Right |
|---|---|---|
| The Summary Trap | Reading AI summary instead of the book | Read first, use AI to verify understanding |
| The Answer Trap | Asking AI to solve problems for you | Attempt first, use AI to check and improve |
| The Passive Trap | Passively reading AI responses | Actively engage, argue back, question AI |
| The Speed Trap | Using AI to go faster through material | Using AI to go DEEPER into material |
| The Certainty Trap | Assuming AI is always correct | Verify important claims, AI makes mistakes |
